Meet Mr. Garaba, Principal

Dear Parent/Guardians,

As the new principal of Fairview and Area Learning Store, it is with honor, humility and gratitude that I welcome all students and staff for the 2020/2021 school year. The school staff is excited to have the students back at school for a year of successful learning. If the first few days are any indication students’ great things are going to happen this year.

As an Outreach school we endeavour to provide a flexible, positive and supportive learning environment to all students. We shall not leave anyone behind. Our mission is to provide a one-on one-program that accommodates all types of learners to assist students meet their diverse goals starting with where they are at.  At Fairview and Area Learning Store, building a safe and supportive relationship with students is front and centre. Such an environment will increase student engagement in learning, improve behaviour in class both of which help to foster higher academically achievement. Students, if you are wondering if FALS could be a place for you, all you need to do is contact FALS, and our very talented office manager, Mrs. Annette Little will “sell you the goods” It is a trip worth taking

This school year is like no other as Covid-19 continues to cause challenges to the healthy of everyone the world over. At FALS we are working daily  and diligently to keep our students safe by following PRSD recommended and Alberta Health protocols which include, among others, hand hygiene, practising physical distancing, requiring staff and students to wear face masks, increase frequency of cleaning and disinfecting.  Staff and students are to stay home when ill.

I will work, along with the FALS staff to continue the great work that Mr. Lorne Brown, my predecessor has done over the years. I believe strongly in a team approach to creating a successful learning environment. It is vital to me that every student who walks through the school door leaves convinced that the trip was worth their time.

Parents/guardians, staff and indeed the community, please help me make this year a memorable one for all our students. I look forward to working with you to provide a successful learning experience for all our students

Moses Garaba
